Our Story
The journey of The Grey Dog began on a quiet street in the West Village called Carmine. Two brothers, Dave and Pete, decided to open a restaurant without any business experience or a concrete plan. Their mission was simple - to create a place where people would want to be. As artists full of spirit and creativity, they used their little shop on 33 Carmine St. as their canvas, naming it after their beloved dogs, Moose and Goose Lane. Today, The Grey Dog has grown to five neighborhood locations in Manhattan, including our beloved Flatiron spot. We still serve simple, wholesome American food, great beer, wine, and cocktails, maintaining the same lively spirit and sense of community.
